Missed my Friday post...
The MBA is 18 months in length. One piece of many that I missed- one piece that will be in the book that I am writing about the MBA- is how long 1.5 years is. I didn't sit down a calendar.
Take an hour. Circle everything in the calendar for the next year and a half. Because some anniversaries, some birthdays, some family trips, evening cards with friends, will be missed. Or will be rushed. Or will be compromised. Or will 'cost' you MBA time. Or you will juggle them well and feel somewhat accomplished. Can you (and your support network) tolerate the vacuum left behind when you are at your books?
The wild card- illness. Friday was lost to the boys being kicked out of daycare with inner ear infections. Not a big deal most often, but I lost Saturday and Sunday and am 'behind' my self determined schedule, already. Little things like posting this blog, prep reading, schedule making. Bigger things like sleep. Family time was kept up, but that was a challenge. Boys are better, I am now starting to catch up. As the 18 month future is planned, remember the wild cards of illness.
During the MBA break we got a two week break- we took the boys to Hotel Selkirk and I ran a 5km with Mathias and Sebastian.
But now the gears of the MBA turn. Now we march...
